It is a small and specialised nursery with the aim of offering a range of perennials, shrubs, climbing plants and ornamental grasses which will do well under local climatic conditions.  The emphasis is on plants which are both winter hardy (ie can withstand frosts of up to around -8°C or more) and summer hardy (ie drought resistant) although a limited number of frost tender plants are also offered, usually because they are particularly attractive during the summer months.  In other words, plants which are hardy in the Mediterraneen "zone d'olivier", approximately equivalent to USDA zone 8.  There is also an emphasis on plants which are less well known although certain classic favourites are also offered.  We are continually trying out new varieties and researching plants from other regions of the world with similar climates to the local area (such as South Africa, the south west United States, south west Australia) as well plants indigenous to the Mediterranean.   All plants offered for sale have been grown on the nursery from seed or from cuttings of plants grown on site or in local gardens, thus they are already adapted to the wind, the sun and the cold.
